An engineer, known as STS 3D, developed a system where a sentry rifle was controlled by voice commands through ChatGPT. The setup was demonstrated in a video where the robot aimed and fired blanks at targets based on voice commands simulating an attack from two directions.

OpenAI identified this use as a violation of its policies and ceased the developer’s access to its services. The company’s policy prohibits the use of its technology for weapon development or any activities that could lead to harm. An OpenAI spokesperson confirmed to Futurism that they “proactively identified this violation of our policies and notified the developer to cease this activity ahead of receiving your inquiry.”

The video demonstration involved the robot responding to commands, executing actions, and firing blanks, showcasing the potential for AI in weapon systems.
