Fate has allotted more than 13 years to the present rulers for their trial and probation. However, they pronounce the harshest judgment on themselves, in that they themselves began the failure of their achievements by the nature of their present propaganda. They once wanted to govern Germany better for the future than they had in the past, and as a result of their formation of government they can in reality only state that Germany and the German people are still alive. They solemnly promised in November 18 to lead our people, and especially the German worker, toward a better economic future.
Today, after we have had nearly 14 years to fulfill your promise, you cannot cite a single German profession as a witness to the goodness of your actions. The German peasant is impoverished, the middle class is ruining the social hopes of many millions of people, destroying 1/3 of all German men and women in gainful employment without work and thus without earnings. The Reich, the municipalities and the states over-indebted, all finances in disorder and all coffers empty.
What more could they have destroyed anyway? The worst thing, however, is the destruction of confidence in our people, the elimination of all hopes and all confidence.
In 13 years they have not succeeded in any way in mobilizing the dormant forces in our people. On the contrary, in their fear of the awakening of the nation they have played people off against each other the city against the country, the clerk against the official, the manual laborer against the worker, the Stirner against the Bavarian, against the Prussian, the Catholic against the Protestant and so on and vice versa. The activism of our race was only consumed internally. Outwardly, however, fantasies remained, fantastic hopes for culturally conscientious peoples, a world conscience, ambassadors’ conference, League of Nations, Second International, Third International proletarian solidarity, etc., and the world treated us accordingly. Thus Germany has slowly decayed, and only a madman can hope that the forces which brought about the first election can now bring about its resurrection. If the previous parties seriously wanted to save Germany, why didn’t they do it before? But if they have wanted to save Germany, then I consider that they have failed to do so. If the men of these parties honestly intended to do so, then their programs must have been bad.
But if their programs were right, then they themselves could not have sincerely wanted it, or they were too ignorant or too weak.
Now, after 13 years, since they all destroyed Germany, the time of their own elimination has come. Whether today’s parliamentary parties live or not is not important, but what is necessary is to prevent the German nation from perishing completely. The overcoming of these parties, however, is obligatory because, in order to live themselves, they must prepare the nation again and again. For years they have persuaded the German worker that he alone could save the woman. For years the peasant pretended that only his organization would help him. The middle class should be snatched there middle class parties and the economy and economy party from the ruin. The Catholic had to take his refuge with the center and the Protestant a Christian social people’s state. In the end, the landlords got their own political representation, as did the tenants, the employees, and the civil servants. But these attempts to divide the nation into classes, estates, professions, denominations, and to bring it piecemeal towards the economic happiness of the future, have today finally failed.
On the day of the foundation of our National Socialist movement, we were already dominated by the conviction that the fate of the German man is our principle connected with the fate of the entire nation.
When Germany falls, it will not be the worker who will thrive in social happiness, nor the entrepreneur, nor the farmer. Will it not then be the middle class? No. In it goes the ruin of the nation and the ruin of all. Also, no denomination and no single German tribe will be able to escape the general lot. On the day of the foundation of the National Socialist movement, we have long been clear about the fact that not the proletariat will be the victory over the bourgeoisie, and not the bourgeoisie, the victory over the proletariat, but that then the international high finance must in the end become the exclusive victor over both. And so it has come to pass. Recognizing this decay, 13 years ago I formed with a handful of people a new movement, which in its very name is to be a proclamation of the new people’s community. There is no modernity, the power of the spirit, no social happiness at all, which is not protected by the power of a nation, indeed receives its precondition.
But there is also no nation and with it no nationalism, if the army of millions of spiritual workers does not build the army of millions of workers, The army of millions of peasants pushes.
Pluralism and socialism march as separate ideas while being defeated by their united opponent. The day they merge the two ideas into one, they look invincible. And who wants to deny that in a time in Germany everything breaks, in the economy and in the political life everything comes to a standstill and finds an end at all, a single organization, an unheard-of and wonderful upswing. With seven men I began this work of German unification 13 years ago and today there are over 13 million in our ranks. But it is not the number that is decisive, but its inner value. 13 million people of all professions, 13 million workers, peasants and intellectuals, 13 million Catholics and Protestants, members of all German states and tribes have formed a union, and 13 million have realized that the future of all lies only in the common struggle and in the common success of all. Millions of peasants have now realized that it is not right for them themselves to understand the necessity of their existence, but that it is necessary to enlighten the other walks of life and professions about the German peasant and to win them over to him.
And millions of workers have realized just as well today that, in spite of all theories, their future lies not in any International, but in the realization of the rest of the people that without German peasants and German workers there is no German strength. And likewise millions of bourgeois intellectuals have come to realize how trivial their own conceit is, when the millions of the rest of the people finally realize the importance of the German intelligentsia. Thirteen years ago we were called National Socialists because today a faithful community of people has arisen in our ranks that will slowly overcome the prejudices of class insanity. A believing community of people determined to take up the struggle for the preservation of our race. Not because they are Bavarians or Prussians, Württemberg or Saxons, Catholics or Protestants, workers or civil servants, citizens or employees, etc., but because they are all Germans. In this feeling of solidarity, mutual respect has grown. But out of respect came understanding, and after understanding came the tremendous force that moves us all. We National Socialists therefore also march into every election, with the next day to begin work again for the inner reorganization of our national body.
If not on Monday or ministerial chairs, we German people can, if we want to put together again and become, to one under guarantee because community of destiny. The Almighty, who allowed so far that we became 13 million in 13 years from 7000. Will he allow us to become a German nation for 13 million as well? But we believe in this people, for this people we win this people, we are ready, if necessary. Just like the thousands of comrades before us, we are ready to give our body and soul. If the nation must fulfill its duty, then one day the one that gives us back. An empire of honor and freedom, work and bread.
